Reflections of Nature –
the many facets of nature reinterpreted in a series of exceptional designs
Reflections of Nature is the theme of Villeroy & Boch’s 2018 tile collection and is realised in high-quality designs that take elements of nature and reinterpret them in authentic, natural surface finishes. The result is a range of extraordinary products, each bearing the unmistakable Villeroy & Boch design signature and offering a refined vision of nature in its totality.
The new collection’s ceramic designs centre around the theme of natural stone and range from deceptively realistic adaptations to liberal interpretations of examples taken from nature. The new tile ranges offer a variety of design options for indoor applications that can be easily adapted to a number of different styles, from classical elegance and natural simplicity to modern minimalism. Each design features 2 cm thick OUTDOOR TILES, which can be used to continue floor tiles from selected ranges indoors to outdoors, for instance from the sitting room or kitchen to the balcony, terrace or straight into the garden.
Marble and sandstone – as beautiful as the real thing
The elegant design of the MARMOCHIC range is particularly authentic and true to the stone it is modelled on. It is inspired by the exquisite Calacatta Gold, Grigio Collemandina and Pietra Grey marbles, which are each reinterpreted in their typical colours, look and feel. Thanks to the very latest technology and surface finishes, the character of each marble has been translated into Villeroy & Boch’s porcelain stoneware floor tiles and nonvitreous wall tiles. And the result is striking: the ceramic looks and even feels like real marble. MARMOCHIC is therefore the natural choice for timelessly elegant designs in sophisticated interiors: its refined assortment of decorative elements also opens up a world of opportunities for customisation.
The new HUDSON floor range is just as realistic and comes in a tranquil sandstone effect. The HUDSON design is a twist on the expressive charm of natural sand paintings and an authentic interpretation of the delicate grain of sand surfaces. With its warm, gentle colours, subtle shading and homogeneous yet convincing sandstone structure, worked in a delicate relief, the HUDSON range has a natural and timeless appearance. The unglazed vilbostone porcelain stoneware range is perfect for tranquil, understated surface designs in modern architecture, indoors and out.
Vibrant stone structures – on-trend designs
With its vibrant stone effect, the new TUCSON range is perfectly in step with the current trend for rustic natural materials. TUCSON reproduces the look of natural stone using carefully-selected natural shades in rich compositions of colour. Vitalising design highlights are created by subtle traces of rust, which lend the unglazed porcelain stoneware a unique sense of authenticity, making TUCSON particularly apt for modern countryhouse styles. This high-quality porcelain stoneware offers an anti-slip rating of up to R11/B and is therefore perfect for wet areas, such as swimming pool surrounds.
The new NATURAL BLEND floor range translates the current trend for layered stone into a high-quality, contrast-rich tile design. The natural stone effect features a mineral texture and multiple layers that manifest as stripes when broken down or cut. In NATURAL BLEND, this varied mineral composition has been interpreted with quiet areas and translucent gradients. In a rectangular format, the NATURAL BLEND range’s delicate colouring and subtle veining truly comes into its own, making it the perfect choice for attractive natural, modern and classical rooms.
Villeroy & Boch has added the BACK HOME range to its portfolio in response to the requirements of commercially constructed apartment and single-family houses: its homogeneous stone structure makes this range the perfect choice for all applications. Its universal design, assortment of formats and surface finishes means that the BACK HOME range can be used throughout the home in rooms of varying styles, including kitchens and hallways, living and dining areas, bedrooms and bathrooms. The BACK HOME range offers good value for money and gives property developers the chance to enhance their buildings with branded products.
Christiane von der Laake, head of design at V&B Tiles, says: “Our new collection takes elements from the natural world and skilfully interprets them in high-quality ceramic. The new ranges invite us to pause for a moment to enjoy the incomparable beauty of a surface, reflect on a compelling layout and appreciate an attractive décor: to see, feel, experience and reflect.”
