Collection HALSTON - New Tiles 2017

As beautiful as a wooden floor that has been lovingly maintained for years

HALSTON: Porcelain-stoneware concept with the innovative velvetYwood finish

In 2017, Villeroy & Boch Tiles is once again presenting a timeless vilbostone porcelain-stoneware concept with a wood look and thereby expanding its range in this design area. With a new look and very special feel, HALSTON offers an alternative to the existing series. While NATURE SIDE, LODGE and TUXEDO have the appearance of new, freshly laid wood, HALSTON shows the tree-growth lines and recreates in ceramic the structure of naturally aged or whitewashed wood. This gives the floor covering a sense of authenticity, as if it has been lovingly cared for over the course of many years.

The high-quality HALSTON design is particularly impressive on the strength of its varied wood look and sophisticated surface: Thanks to the innovative velvetYwood finish, the tiles not only have a discreet shine reminiscent of waxed wooden floors but they also have a pleasant, almost wax-like soft feel. A delicate wood relief also highlights the natural effect of the design.

The vilbostone porcelain-stoneware tiles are available in expressive shades of grey and brown. There are two colours to choose from with a natural wood look and four colours in which the natural character of the wood appears to have been influenced by various elements, such as sunlight or daily wear. With the colours Silver, Tobacco, Coal Black, Ivory, Greige and Brown, which range from light grey to deep black-brown, HALSTON gives interiors with a classically modern style a subtle natural touch and can also be used for floor designs that coordinate with a puristic, urban look.

HALSTON is available in three formats: in a length of 120 cm and widths of 20 and 30 cm, and in 22.5 x 90 cm. The 120-cm lengths can all be combined. All three formats can, of course, also be laid individually. The resulting areas have a natural look that can be varied with the 30 x 30 cm decorative panels. The décor is a combination of a wood and marble look that adds a classically inspired touch to installations by means of very pronounced patterns. The mosaic strip tile in format 2.5 x 15 cm can be used to create angular geometries and also floor-flush shower areas. Strip skirting in format 7.5 x 120 cm adds the finishing aesthetic touch to the concept.

The new HALSTON floor concept is suitable for installation throughout the home, from living rooms and bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens to studies and hallways. It offers an authentic wood look with a natural flair, together with virtually all the advantages of ceramics: the tiles are lower maintenance and more robust than wooden floors, ideal for allergy-sufferers or for use in conjunction with underfloor heating, and their appearance doesn't deteriorate over time. In addition, thanks to its slip resistance, vilbostone porcelain stoneware opens up possibilities for various applications in representative public and semi-public areas, for example, in the entrance areas of hotels or administrative buildings, in restaurants, bars and lobbies or in treatment and waiting rooms.

Whether in private or commercial areas, HALSTON brings a natural energy to every room. The high-quality porcelain stoneware tiles not only look like a waxed wooden floor but, thanks to the unique velvetYwood finish, they (almost) feel like one, too!
