Christmas trees were decorated at the Villeroy & Boch sites in Mettlach, Merzig and Torgau in the last few weeks with star-shaped wish lists from children from “SOS-Kinderdorf Saar”, the Familienzentrum” and the “Gemeinwesen-Treffpunkt Merzig”, the “Strellner Kids” as well as a residential group from the “Haus am Wald” in Strelln near Torgau.
Their wishes ranged from crayons to children’s books through to Bobbycars. The presents were handed over to the organisations this week. Dietmar Langenfeld, one of the organisers and chairman of the works council, was pleased with the response from the employees, “The number of wishes our employees have fulfilled in the last three years has continually increased. We are delighted that we were able to bring a smile to the faces of 125 children in the Merzig and Torgau regions.”
The organisations were also pleased with the successful campaign, “This is the third time that we have taken part in Villeroy & Boch’s “Christmas tree wish” and each year we are overwhelmed by how many beautifully wrapped presents we receive,” Joachim Selzer explains, the director of SOS-Kinderdorf Saar, which with 54 wishes was the largest partner.
